Free Friday

I'm feeling so much better this week, still easily tired, but so much better. Its a good thing too because Flash seems to be coming down with the Manflu, it's his turn to be looked after!

Frasier decided to grab a bit of the medical limelight for himself this week and had a tussle with a hedgehog! I was snuggling with him when I realized he had what i thought was a splinter in his mouth, then realized it was a hedgehog spike, a quick call to the vet who told me how to remove it (once he had finished laughing) as he didn't want Frasier going to see him unless there was a real problem (going to the vet causes Frasier so much stress we deal with a lot of stuff by phone). He has lots of little cuts on his front legs as well, obviously he saw the hedgehog ambling around and decided here was something he could finally catch ( he has only caught slugs and crickets before) and the hedgehog did what comes naturally and curled into a ball, coming off the winner in this battle! Thankfully NZ hedgehogs are pretty much clean, and don't carry fleas, Frasiers wounds have healed well.

If you read the interview with me in Entangled magazine, you will know that leaving my high stress social work job was a goal we as a family had set for early next year, well due to my illness that decision was brought forward and I resigned a few weeks ago, much to the relief of Flash, the kids and my parents who have long worried about my physical safety in that environment. I will miss my colleagues and some of my clients, but I will not miss the toxic culture of that public department.

This decision has opened new doors for me, and I look forward to sharing my new journey with you over the next few weeks!

This weeks winner is number 5 - that is Minimiss and her choice is Liam! (it has been gifted to you via Ravelry)

I love Liam, it is a simple sweetie, and looks so cute on, and it comes with a pattern for simple pants which are always useful.

I'm sticking with this format for a few more weeks, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me which pattern you would like to win (either look at my website or Ravelry).
So, go to the comments and tell me which pattern you would like - good luck!

Housekeeping:
- please include your Ravelry name or your email address (you can space it out to avoid spambots)- I will gift the pattern via Ravelry, if you do not belong to Rav I will email the .pdf to you- winner (s) are drawn sometime on Friday, this means "Friday afternoon/evening New Zealand time"- the winner (s) are chosen by random number generator (I use this one now)- you may enter even if you have won before.

I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better and that you've left a bad work environment. That can only mean things will look up from here, right? I would love to win a copy of Aria - it's a wonderful design. Thanks for the chance to win! (cnuland on Rav)
