Free Friday - win a knitting pattern from Just Jussi!

This week brought yet another ailment to slow me down, I am so very tired of being unwell and hopefully this week will see the last of it. Last friday my lower back was somewhat stiff and sore, and by this friday it was quite unbearable.
I visited my GP (yes I am on a first name basis with the medical receptionist) who was able to put my mind at rest and advised that it there was nothing seriously amiss and that it was either a sprain or post-herpetic neuralgia due to the glandular fever and that either way it would go away by itself, so I'm taking the pills and they are working and everyone is happy again.

The problem with these niggly little things is that they cut into my time, I couldn't sit and knit much last week, because sitting hurt. Knitting is one of the things that usually makes illness bearable, I can't just sit and do nothing so not being able to knit is frustrating. Work was fine because I was moving all the time, interspersing standing, kneeling, walking with sitting kept everything ok so that I could knit a little.

The upshot of all this is that the Trackwork pattern still isn't complete, my Saffron sweater is not yet finished and I need it by friday! and I have a sample I'm  working on for work which I would like to display asap, today the pills have kicked in nicely so I will spend most of this cold, rainy sunday on the couch with my WIP basket.

Highlights of the last week were:

The NORO magazine appeared at my local newsagent, it is beautiful. There are a couple of skirts which are simply stunning, and many of the patterns use beautifully sophisticated construction techniques. Lovely.

I'm knitting a chevron blanket in pink, green and white Willow DK by Zealana, its a 70/30 merino/cashmere blend, with a dense luxurious hand which knits up beautifully. When I finish it I am going to start an identical one in blue, beige and cream. I need to expand my stash of knitted grandchild blankets because the grandchild numbers are set to increase by at least 100%.

Delightful fangirl moment when one of my daughter's workmates discovered that I had designed the Aviatrix hat, apparently I'm world famous in Woolston ;-)

This weeks pattern winner is number 5 thats Saskyumchar, I have gifted Mister Man to you via Rav.
Mister Man is a behemoth of a pattern! The actual vest is easy to knit, but the pattern covers 20 sizes from 0 to very large man. The slip st pattern is easy to remember and makes the most of hand painted yarns.

I'm sticking with this format for a few more weeks, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me which pattern you would like to win (either look at my website or Ravelry).

So, go to the comments and tell me which pattern you would like - good luck!

Housekeeping:
- please include your Ravelry name or your email address (you can space it out to avoid spambots)- I will gift the pattern via Ravelry, if you do not belong to Rav I will email the .pdf to you- winner (s) are drawn sometime on Friday, this means "Friday afternoon/evening New Zealand time"- the winner (s) are chosen by random number generator (I use this one now)- you may enter even if you have won before.

Yippee-yi-yay! Thanks so much for Mister Man! I must remember to send a friend to your blog who informs me that while on research leave in London for the last 6months, she has learnt to knit. She also had her first baby over there (they are due back in NZ now-ish), and I am sure she would love some of your patterns... The Basic Garter set would be perfect for her. So if I win that, I will gift it to her (pls message me via Rav and I'll send your her details)

I love the new Trackwork pattern. I find the busy hand-painted wool "too much" even in clothes for small people despite how beautiful it looks when in the shop! This pattern just using a little bit in the yoke with solid colour elsewhere looks great.

I really like the look of Mister Man, plus I like knitting with 4 ply and that it comes in so many sizes. My ravelry name is Louisson.
